John R. Taylor è un artista e studioso britannico attivo in Italia dove risiede da più di trent’anni. Titolare di una borsa di studio alla British School di Roma nel 1990, fu ben presto condotto dalla sua pratica artistica a Pietrasanta, dove cominciò a studiare la storia delle Alpi Apuane. Nel corso degli anni, ha continuato la sua ricerca, mentre lavorava come professore di scultura e disegno a Firenze, assistente negli studi di numerosi artisti rinomati e artista in proprio, con mostre in Italia e all’estero. Grazie al suo unico bagaglio di esperienza pratica e conoscenze storiche, è divenuto un consulente ricercato da svariate organizzazioni, tra cui l’UNESCO, diversi gruppi di restauratori e università in tutta la Toscana.
John R. Taylor is a British artist and scholar who has lived and worked in Italy for over 30 years. A recipient of a fellowship at the British School at Rome in 1990, his artistic practice soon brought him to the town of Pietrasanta where he began to study the story of the Apuan Alps. He continued this research over the years while working as a professor of sculpture and drawing in Florence, a technician in the studios of numerous renowned artists, and an exhibiting artist in his own right around Italy and abroad. His unique blend of practical experience and historical knowledge has led him to be a sought-after resource by organizations from UNESCO to restoration teams and universities around Tuscany.
